Student Leadership Roles.

Students are encouraged to take on leadership roles within the school. A students Council consisting of 14 students works closely with the Principal and Deputy Principal. Through regular meetings the Student Council aims to identify and discuss issues of concern to the students and suggest projects that may be undertaken to address such issues. Their input into the decision-making process is highly valued.

The specific duties of the Council members are:

• To liaise with the Principal, Deputy Principal and the student body.
• To look out for and promote the needs of their fellow students.
• Each prefect has specific responsibility for a particular class in the Junior cycle and they make every effort to
form a bond with their assigned class. Their enthusiasm and willingness to help out with class activities is of
great assistance to Year Head Teachers and Class Tutors.
• To help organise events specific to 6th years, e.g. the Debs Ball, Graduation Mass etc.

Their fellow students elect the members of the student council and each year group has 2 representatives. The Head Girl and the Deputy Head girl are automatic members.
