Kilkenny and Moret sur Loing, France, are twinned cities. Exchanges
between groups of all ages have been taking place for quite
a time. Each year a group of approximately 15 girls from St.
Brigid's and 15 boys from C.B.S. Kilkenny correspond with students
from Colége Alfred Sisley in Moret.
In Late Spring or Early summer the students form Kilkenny
and Callan visit and stay with their respective pen-pals for
two weeks. The French students then make a return visit to
Ireland.
Moret sur Loing is well known in France for its Son et Lumenier
festival which take place on the banks of the Loing river
in July and August. A real life recreation of life in Moret
through the ages is enacted on the banks of the rives. It
displays the development of the town from early Christian
time to the present day.
Une Journée à l'École
la journée des éleves au Colege Alfred Sisley
est tres longue. L'école commence a huit heures. Les
cours durent une heure. Ils ont sept cours par jour. Entre
huit heurs et midi ils on une récréation de
vingt minutes et ils on deux heures pour le déjeuner.
Ils mangent dans la cantine. L'apres midi ils ont trois cours
et ils rentrent chez eux a cinq heures. Les plus jeunes éleves
sont libre a quatre heures.
