Junior Cycle.

The core subjects for the Junior Cycle are:

Gaeilge            History
English             Geography
Mathematics     Civic, Social & Political Education (CSPE)
French

In addition to the above core subjects each incoming First Year student also studies the following optional examination subjects:

Art
Music
Business Studies
Home Economics
Science

Non-Examination Subjects

In keeping with our commitment to provide as rounded an education as possible the following subjects while not examined in the Junior Certificate are available to students in the Junior Cycle and are an essential component of the curriculum.

Religious and Social Education.
Physical Education
Social, Personal and Health Education (S.P.H.E)
Computer Studies
Speech & Drama

Having had the opportunity to study all the optional examination subjects in first year, students are then given the opportunity to concentrate on those subjects that suit them best, and may choose two subjects from each of the following subject groupings:

Group A:  Art, Music, German
Group B:  Home Economics, Science, Business Studies

The non-examination subjects listed above continue to be an integral part of the Junior Cert Cycle.
